A fire extinguisher only helps if it works the moment you need it. On every service visit, our Bomba-registered technicians check these eight points on each extinguisher and fix anything they find.
We check the cord or tamper seal that holds the ring pin is attached securely. A missing, broken or frayed cord is replaced, as it shows whether the extinguisher has been tampered with.
The ring pin stops the extinguisher going off by accident. We make sure it is in place, straight and free of rust, and replace any pin that is bent, damaged or has been pulled.
Every extinguisher needs a tag showing when it was last serviced. We check the tag is there and readable, then update it with the date of this visit.
The operating instructions must be clear in an emergency. We clean labels and replace any that are faded, peeling or hard to read.
We check the hose and nozzle for cracks, hardening and blockages such as dirt or insects, then clean or replace them so the agent can discharge freely.
The needle must sit in the green zone. Low-pressure units are recharged, and a damaged or faulty gauge is replaced so the reading can be trusted.
The holder keeps the hose clipped to the body, ready to use. We check it is secure and undamaged, and fix or replace it if needed.
The band holds the hose firmly against the cylinder. We check it is tight and in good condition, and adjust or replace it if it is loose.
A good working relationship with Jabatan Bomba Malaysia in every state helps us get the Fire Certificate for Occupancy (Clearance Letter) promptly after inspection.
